The teepee tent is a coned-shaped tent.  It was made by the Native Americans in the prairies in the western and middle parts of North America.  These Americans moved to hunt buffalo and other animals and move to hunt them.

Teepee tents were made out of long poles, and are covered with animal skin.  Today it is made out of cloth.

Tepees were put up in a circle, which symbolized life.  Today it is mostly used for special occasions and not as homes anymore.  The plains Indians normally paint on it and mark off evil.  The flaps or doors normally face the sun.
