Title: Study 3 Man From The Side 13 June 2020
Medium: Marlin Paper, B Pencil
I start using a new tutorial which I found on the internet. The person who wrote the tutorial said (I think it is a she) use the block-in method.
The block-in is a map of the various information of the person you draw.
This block-in method addresses proportions, placement, and construction of the head and features, shadow shapes, and even edge quality.
The block-in is the most important part of the portrait drawing.
This tutorial did not work for me. I will not use this to do a real-life portrait, what I can use this is for quick face drawings. The reason why is that I struggle to get the face blocks.
I decided to finish the artwork and search on the net for a man’s face from the side, which I got, but they do not look the same. This is only a study.
